Not opening up the debate on tires - just need to get the originals off the car and have a set of 195/65/15s. Anyone have that size with a pic so I can see what it looks like?
 
Since you've had no response thus far, I'll offer this -- 195/65R15 on a TR4...

I put 205/70R15 on my TR6 with Wire wheels and was told they are the closest to the original size tire, now I had a flat one night, fortunately is was at a gas station but when I went to put the spare on I found out it was a 14 inch wheel, not good when its on the back, it causes the diff to turn at different rates, anyway back on topic, so I purchased a spare chrome wire wheel, and guess what in 4 years they dont make that tire anymore, so go down to the local used tire place get a used 205/70/R15 tire. I purchased a tube, installed the tire on the wheel myself, got it balanced for free since the tire stores dont want the liability, and go to put it in the trunk space and its too wide and the cover does not fit flush to the floor. lot of writting to say 195/70-R15 might be ok and the spare will fit in the trunk. and FYI

I also have the 205/70R15 tires on my TR6 and am happy with the way they fit the wheel well. I also struggled about a spare. Actually, I drove around all last summer with no spare, then I saw what BobbyD had posted about a 15" donut spare from a Honda or Acura.
Off I went to the local junk yard and got myself a 15" perfect spare off of an Acura. The only caveat is that the spare fits perfect on the rear... it rubs on the front brake caliber unless you have a spacer to move it outward.

Geo, those do look great. I really like mine, too. Same size, of course.

I may have asked you this already, but do you notice the steering feels tighter with those tires? You have to steer just a bit more, and steer back around turns, moreso than with the skinnier 165 SR 15 tire?

FWIW - The Heritage cert from my 250 shows 185x15 as the delivered size. I have 205/60's on both the TR6 and 250 and quite like them. I have a stock size tire as the spare in the 6. As the others discovered, larger than stock tires won't fit in the spare tire well.
 
The 195/65/15s will be around 1.7 inches less in diameter. At 60mph on your speedometer, your actual speed will be 56.3. A 205/65/15 will get you to within 1.2 inches of the original, speedometer reading at 60 is actually 57.3.
205/70/15 puts you within 0.4 inches of the original, speedo a 60 is actually at 59.3

I computed the diameter of the original tire from it's circumference. Hopefully, I did not make a mistake. If so, correction would be welcome.

I haven't driven my ER250 with anything but the tires I have on now (205.65s) but I did have a TR4A (solid axle) that I went from a 195/70 to a 165/80, I much preffered the 165s for steering and handling feel, the car felt lighter and more agile, and the wheel self centered much better.

I don't know if the difference would be as pronouced on the 6s or other IRS cars, and I cetainly am getting a lot more grip with my 205s than I ever had on my 4a, but I guess it is what you are going for, I want to autocross a little bit with the 250, so decided to go for a little more grip.
