1913 Mercer Raceabout

Oh that is just too neat! If you feel the need to give it away, I will gladly pay the shipping! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

You're serious? You own a Mercer Raceabout?
This is really the first American sports car.

Don't let the Stutz Bearcat owners hear you say that!!!

Actually, one of the world's great afficianados on early American cars lives here in my city (he goes by "Sully" and owns a Bearcat -- When I made reference to Mercers in my column last summer, he jokingly hit me with the fact that I wasn't giving Stutz guys their due!)

If you would like to know more about Mercers, early American (Brass era) cars and the important people in Mercers -- I can provide you with Sully's phone number.

[/ QUOTE ] Another Stutz Bearcat owner (1914 vintage), who lives here in Denver, is a professional appraisor for brass-era cars. Deane Fehrman, previously the curator of the old Rippey Auto Museum in Denver and past president of the Colorado Old Car Council, owns a number of other interesting cars besides the Stutz. He can probably tell you more about any "anomalous" parts you find on the Mercer than nearly anyone around.

If you want more info, send me an E-mail and I will send you his address and phone number. Perhaps he needs a vacation in Australia this year!/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cheers.gif
