175cd stromberg carbs

Having a problem when I start up. The carbs spit /cough when I give it some throttle. Then it runs pretty strong could this be a mixture problem?

Re: 175cd stromberg carbs

Is this after warmup, or during with the choke at which position? Fully engaged, 1/2 or not at all?

Re: 175cd stromberg carbs

This happens when the choke is half out.What function does the trim screw play? I read keep it fully screwed in or you can fiddle with it to fine tune the idle.

Re: 175cd stromberg carbs

Have you read the three part Buckeye Triumph Carb Rebuilding and Tuning files that are available on their site? It takes you through everything, but you can pickup from the resetting page and go forward to make sure yours are all set up properly.

I wouldn't waste my time on this. It's very fine adjustment that can only be detected by an CO sensor in the tailpipe.
You'll find the help that Brosky suggested here;

Check all your adjustments as well as the condition and orientation of the air valve diaphrams.
