If the 70 is a lower profile than the 80, why does the 80 only throw the speedo off 1% compared to the 70 at 3%? What was the profile number of the original bias tires?

Well, that'd make your ///M Coupe tires look cheap! Historically, I've paid $205-$225 per tire for them...

That would depend on how silly I was on the day I bought a set. Goodyear F1 supercar tires run $342 at Tirerack for each rear. :hammer:

COZ compared to the original 80 Profile bias ply tyre whose Dia was~ 25.4" A 175 X 70 X 15 was ~ 24.6" He is not so tall see so cause more error. :laugh:

ONTOH, A 185 X 70 X 15 was just a wee bit smaller than the originals with a Dia @ 25.2" cause very little error. :thumbsup:

What was the profile number of the original bias tires? [ 80 ]

Click on tech tips and click on.. Tire size and speedometer calculator.
This is a program that you can put in the size tires that are original and any other tire size and speedo number and it will give you a comparison. It will tell you All size deminsions and the differance in your speed on speedometer.
After you enter your sizes click compare and then scroll down and you will see all the size and speed comparisons. It is fun to play with and will answer all questions on what size and how tall that tire will be. and at 55mph what will my speedo be reading with a different size tire.
