Merlyn left us. Our magic lad. The ability to be in two places at the same time gained him his nomer. He was 12 weeks old then.

Heart of a lion. Would've faced down any threat, danced on back-legs for any treat. Especially tinned kippers. I doubt it'll be anytime soon I can have those without bawling like a child.

HE was a ~child~ of eighteen years, his absence will be a great-giant hole in our lives.

And our hearts.

Sorry for your loss Doc. Loosing a pet that is like family is never easy. Sounds like he had a real good run and a great family who cared for him.

We did our best. Eighteen years for a male cat is as good as we could do.

He went ahead of us. I'll trust he will be ~point~ when we follow.

...can't think of any being I'd trust more, actually.

I almost posted a link to Andre Norton's "Catseye".

Merlyn was one of those. I swear.

Sorry to hear that Doc. 18 is a heck of a run for a cat.
I'll raise a glass in his honor.

The Circle Game.... yes doc that's what it is.
It's been a long time since I've heard it-- Thank you!

Sorry for your loss Doc. It is hard to lose someone who has been part of the family. You will have the memories you created for the reat of your life, so in a way he isn't really gone at all.

Thanks, Dar. He'll be here as long as there's an internet.

In his better days:

....snoring with yer tongue out is terpsichorean.

Great photo of Merlyn doc but from the looks of things you were living in his house... sorry about your loss.

Anybody who thinks the other way Elliot is fooling themselves!

Right you are don. Any pet IS part of the family.

I am so very sorry for what you are feeling now. Our pets are our family. Not easy to say good bye.

Sorry to hear bro. In know the feeling. Been dreading the day w/ Oscar. 12 y.o and counting. Stopped driving the Nidget so I can take him w/ me in my truck. Something just seems right about riding around in an old truck w/ your hound dog.

Buried three in the past three years. Believe me when I say I know your pain.

But hey, 18 years is a LONG time !!!

Doc, I'm so sorry for your loss. I know how hard a time this for you and Smits. In my thoughts........

Sorry for the loss of your furry friend, Doc.

Again, sorry to hear, Doc.

Go get another one from your local shelter, today. :yesnod:

Fury feline friends are fantastic. Sorry on your loss of your friend.
