1500 oil pump

Honestly, I'm not sure (and I don't have anything around here to measure).
I think you could put the original straight cover (and pickup) on the new pump (if you still have the original pump).
By the way, when you re-assemble the pump, you should check the clearance between the side of the rotors and the cover...basically, the closer, the better. I lapped my pump-body and cover down on a plate until it had only about 0.001" clearance. Just did that the other day, in fact.

just got a new oil pump for my 1500. it has a angled pickup. mine has a straight one. they look to be interchangeable. can anyone confirm this...

The angled pickup is for a Spitfire...it'll fit but don't use it.
When I rebuilt my original 1500, I used a Spit oil-pump (by mistake....I had several parts-engines). Even a 10 MPH turn uncovered the pickup resulting in no oil pressure.
 
can i use the new pump and the straigh pickup?
if i remachine the cover?
