O.K, I know the rear bolw needs some clearance, how about the front? IIRC, somoene said the expansion tank is in the way. Is this correct? I made a little bracket to move the rear bowl and need to know if I have to make one for the front.

The front bowl will interfere with the brass tank. You will need to relocate it. I put mine up next to the battery where the carbon canister used to be. I think how much clearance for the rear depends on how much your motor mounts are sagged. Mine are new and the clearance i cut was a triangle out of the rail with an over all distance of about 4-6 inches and maybe a 1 inch or two deep., two cuts and then i inverted it and used some high tech panel adhesive to re attach it. A heat shield will be needed- I got mine from se hinton on ebay. Here is a real lousy pic-but you get the idea.

I won't need to notch for the rear as I have moved the bowl back on the carb. It should clear but haven't tried it yet. I have heat shield already. My tank isn't in right now but I need to put it back so I'll relocated it. I need to order a new gasket, Advance wants $15 for one.

You will never go back to a weber.......

What about HIF4's?

I already have these and they are authentic "Euro" carbs ( *snicker*) all polished up and rebuilt. I might go that route later, as it seems I'm collecting induction systems for this thing. If I go injection, it'll probably be off of the SU base platform.
