Today, 25 Dec 2014, marks 14 years! Hope you all had a fine day with friends and family.

A fine day to you and yours as well. And thank you for all you do and have done to keep this place alive, sir!

And a happy anniversary to you and all the BCF!

Tom

Yes, thanks for keeping a civil and orderly respite going for so long. I know it has not been easy.

We had our kids and grand-kids over on Christmas eve. Wonderful

And yesterday we had Christmas dinner with the in-laws. My father-in-law (who is 91) is getting "forgetful" and has other medical issues. He rarely talks to anyone else about WW II but for some reason he loves to tell me his "stories". And I am a willing listener. Yesterday I heard all about how he set up SCR-610 field radios in Belgium. And how he drove a Dodge weapons carrier in Germany. And flying in an L4 in France. He usually tells me each story 3 or 4 times in a row. But I don't mind. We may not have that many Christmases left together.

In two days I'll see my dear old Dad and at least 5 of my siblings plus their families here at our house. We have lots of old, unlabeled B&W photos from Ireland and Dad is one of the few people still around that can identify some of the folks in those pictures. So we'll work on that for a while. But we'll also have lots of food and grog and guitars. We'll probably make an attempt at "Old Stewball" and "Jingle Bells", etc. It'll be off-key but it'll be fun.

I hope you had a nice Christmas and you have a great 2015.

On another note, both my wife and my older daughter were involved in fund raisers for NAMI this year. Thanks for your efforts in promoting this organization.

And finally.....will that XKE be running this year?

Had a great day with kids and grandkids. Much fun to watch the little ones attack their presents.

I know I'm still a relative newbie, not even 18 months yet, but THANK YOU!!! The assistance and advice has been an invaluable aid to me, but still not nearly as valuable as the associations that I've forged with my fellow BCFers.

" ...valuable as the associations that I've forged with my fellow BCFers."

Amen to that!

Thanks for all that you do. I can't believe it's been 14 years. I think I've been a member for 12 years and it seems to have gone by in the blink if an eye. Having joined in 2002, that would mean Agatha and I have been having adventures for 11 years. Were it not for BCF I'd not have known about Dave Porter who brought her back to life. I'm doing the happy dance.

Thanks all! And Thanks for the cool gift, Judy (judow)! For those who don't know, Judy lives only a couple of miles from me. The other night, she called and wanted to meet me at a gas station that I would pass on my way home. Said she had something to give me. I had to work late, but eventually I met her and her hubby in the parking lot of a RT66 gas station. She wanted me to get in her SUV, so I climbed in the back seat. She handed me a bubble-wrap-lined mailing bag with a box inside When I peered inside, I gasp a bit because, from looking at the top of the box, I thought she was giving me a $1000 Canon L-Series lens (she knows I've taken up photography has a late-life hobby). The first picture is what I saw when I looked in the bag. The second picture is what was actually in the box. Really cool and it looks exactly like the real 24-105 "L" lens I own (in fact the lens I took these pictures with).

I call that double exposure. Thanks Bas.

Now *that* is cool!

:applause:

Judy - where'd you ever find that?

Great mug Bas, Judy you are a good gift giver. I can't believe it has been so long, I've been with the BCF almost as long as I've been with my wife.

Thanks and Happy New Year! :arms:

On New Year's Day I will have been on the BCF for thirteen of its years. Since I found the site through an ad in the old British Car magazine I have spent many an hour on here, and I have made friendships that will last. Even got to meet a few of those guys! Basil, thank you for what you did.... You helped make many people very happy, and in doing so you created a community!

Steve, the old British Car Magazine is what got me on here too twelve years ago.
