1275 transmission oil leak

I was filling oil into the transmission before mating it to the engine. I set the transmission on an angle and oil poured out the rear where the driveshaft attaches.
Is that normal. Is there no seal?

there is a seal but only when the drive shaft is inserted to create the "SEAL". Drain the oil out and install the engine tranie etc... last thing is the oil... But don't forget it!
