1275 too high?

Installing a 1275 motor in a 1958 bugeye, motor and gearbox went in fine but it appears that we’re sitting almost 2 1/2” high! Went to install the Moss 2 piece header, # 452-017 and we’re 2 1/2” above the bottom section.
What
We’re using the metal motor mount brackets from the 948 and new motor mounts.
What are we missing?

Are you hung up on the front crossmember? 1275 should slot right in same as a 948. As far as I can remember the mounts are the same -- the rubber mounts are for sure.

Whenyou say 'too high', what do you mean? Is everything bolted up (trans, motor mounts)? Does the centre of hte crank line up with the front crossmember (i.e. the nut is below the top of the crossmember)
I've had problems trying to fit a 1275 (with a bigger dampner) into our bugeye, and will cut the bellhousing to get clearance the next time.
