1275 on EBay, in IL

He pulled the listing a couple of days ago, Jack, because supposedly there was an error. It's listed exactly the same this time, so I don't know what the deal was in the first instance.

It's been on my Watchlist since the first listing. 4 hours, 12 minutes away according to Yahoo Maps. All freeway.

John, I know of plenty of engines near me. One is two miles away. It is free if I help the guy remove the bulkhead from his project car.

I just can't seem to find the time. The "Mr. Mom" gig keeps me pretty busy.
 
Gesh, a free engine. Wish someone down this way would find he needed to clean house.
 
Just to make sure, apart from John K, is there any genuine interest in this motor? Otherwise, I was going to bid and ?buy? just for a learning tool. If it's something you need John, let me know and I won't bid.
I've learnt some things this weekend, one of which, is that I have a lot to learn.

I am watching this auction, however I do not desparately need the engine. You are certainly closer to the location. Feel free to jump on it and I will back off so we do not start a bidding war.
 
I of course will not bid, but would like first crack at it when you are finished learning from it. I think Miss Agatha would look good with a warmed over 1275. hehe.

Will worry about the logistics when the time comes.

Why go all the way to IL for a 1275 engine. Cincy is a big city. There are some around you... just start asking.
 
Just curious, are some 1275 better than others depending on the year? The one in my BE must be a post '68 as the head has air injection ports. I.E; Are there differences in the heads, conrods, valves, etc?
 
I think some were low compression (8.0), some high (8.8), some had emissions stuff, earlier ones didn't etc. They were changed quite a bit between '69 and '74.
I've never owned a 1098, but I guess a 1275 is 177 better? /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/jester.gif
I think cranks were changed too but I don't know when.

My Dad lives there! I go back to visit almost every month and since my Dad loves me he will pick it up for me.

I can't find any 1275s here in Cinci, do you have any locations?
