General MG 1275 Midget CamShaft Slot / Star drive to Oil Pump

Hi All
I have just taken the cam shaft out of my 1275 MIdget engine and it has a slot drive for the oil pump. The Cam I am (was) replacing it with has a 3 point star drive on it.
Does anyone know if when I pulled the replacement Cam out from the front is it likely there is some sort of adaptor stuck to the oil pump which didn't come out with the cam? Or is there some kind of adaptor I can buy in the UK which will convert the 3 pointed star to a slot drive on my current oil pump? Finally I thought about changing the old pump to a star drive but certainly the pictures the retailers show don't seem to have the correct end on them.
I was asking because it would just be extra work to get to the oil pump to see if something may have been left on it when I pulled the replacement cam out.
Many Thanks

Well I have answered my own question but I will put it on here as someone else will probably want to know some time.
Yes you can replace a slot drive cam with a star drive cam but you need to change the oil pump and make sure you have the little pump drive adaptor from the donor engine to go into the end of the cam. In my case it was stuck to the pump when I pulled the cam out from the front and this made things look a little confusing.
Hope this helps someone.

not a 1275 owner but, thanks! I appreciate the collective knowledge of this place
