1275 Header and exhaust

You are better off with the extra clearance by cutting! Any possibility of exhaust rattle or banging against the frame will be eliminated! The header has a "gentler" bend than the stock pipe and is also of a larger diameter!

So I am ready to get and hook up what I need from the header back. Any thoughts on Diameter? I was also thinking about a stainless tip off of the glass pack. What diameter should I get?

I am using 1 3/4" (same as outlet size of header). Don't know about the tip, I am using a flow-thru Harley Davidson muffler which is also 1 3/4" dia. and it is already chromed (w/a nice hanging bracket in just the right spot already welded to it!)which is at the end of the pipe, so it doubles as the tip.

Frank says that a peice of the proper size chrome over brass sink drain pipe stuff can be cut for a fine exhaust tip.

Boy that is a clever idea! Never thought of that!
