1275 head gasket

I am building a 1275.

Which side is the haed side on the head gasket?

The steel liner on the gasket is solid between the bores on one side and not on the other. Does this go up or down?

Thanks

Tony

It ~should~ have the word "FRONT" stamped on it, then you can match up the thing only ONE way.

Tony, it's odd that it's not marked top and front, most head gaskets are, but all the gaskets as you described I've worked with with the steel liner/fire ring joining between the bores, that side wnet towards the block.

Same here. What kind (brand) of gasket IS it? I can't recall ever seein' an unmarked one either. Odd.

I've had one with no markings, came from one of the usual suspects. Doc, Remember the thread where the gasket didn't have the oil galley hole?
Tony, get a Payen.

Ah-HAH!!! Counterfeit!!

Payen, aye!
