1275 for 66 Midget - Which one??

Following up on my earlier thread "1098 Performance", it appears that the consensus is to do exactly as I had hoped, build a 1275 at liesure while keeping the car on the road with it's 1098 then do a quick swap one day.

Being a complete novice though, I need a little more help on what I need to look for. Are there different variations of the 1275? Since my Midget is a 66, is there a certain year or type that would work best? Or since I'll be rebuilding it from scratch, does it matter? Secondly, does anyone have one they'd part with? Thanks in advance!!

There are several minor changes that occurred to the 1275's over the years, but it will make little difference for a street engine. SO just find the best you can. Try not to get one that has been stored dry in the corner of a barn.

Would you be willing to drive to Louisville area to get an engine? If so, then I can send an email out to our club and see if anyone knows of anything available.
