I have the flags flying in memoriam of those lives lost and the heroism of that awful day.

And in salute to those who serve us,and give their lives in that service.

Firemen,Police Officers,EMS,Medical people,Coastguard,Soldiers,Air force personnel,The Marine Corp and the Navy.
I know I've probably missed some,so I'll ask you to forgive me if I have.

Stuart.

ecurie, we also fly the colors, the tragic evening of sept 11th 6 years ago i guess because i was angry, frustrated, confused, needed something to do and to be honest a bit scared, i went out to the light pole in my front yard and wired a spot light no switching on off capabilities aimed it up into the surrounding trees i wept the entire time while doing so, its been on every day and night ever since, just my own personal tribute, it is strange to what corners of the mind one searches solace, no silly its not the original bulb.

The flag in front of our office building was still at full-mast this morning. I went out and lowered it to half-mast, everyone else it seems was waiting for "authorization" and the decision-makers were all at meetings.

I told the receptionist that I would take full responsibility for doing so, and that if anyone had a problem with my taking the initiative they knew where I work.

Some people have spent waaaay too long in offices. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/nonod.gif

steve, bravo! that initiative is what true americans are made of we need more of that, theres probably a bunch of knuckleheads still peering out those office building windows wondering if your action was "politically correct" /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/wall.gif

You know the irony of it all? I'm the only non-US citizen (I'm a Brit) that works in the building! /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/rolleyes.gif

..but you "get it", Steve. We've met waay too many who don't. 3K+ innocents simply went to work that day, only to die.

Thank you for being both perceptive and in charge.

/bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/bow.gif well done, /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/thankyousign.gif
