110 octane fuel

Another Google search:

Octane ratings are not indicators of the energy content of fuels. (See Effects below and Heat of combustion). They are only a measure of the fuel's tendency to burn in a controlled manner, rather than exploding in an uncontrolled manner.[SUP][3][/SUP] Where the octane number is raised by blending in ethanol, energy content per volume is reduced. Ethanol BTUs can be compared with gasoline BTUs in heat of combustion tables.

Or:

So, octane does not enhance the explosion in the cylinder like most people think. What does octane do? It just prevents the air-fuel mixture from igniting before the spark plug does it. Firing the air-fuel mixture at the proper time gives you the maximum power your engine was designed to get. Using higher-octane gasoline than your engine is designed to utilize is only wasting your money.

Higher octane means that the fuel burns slower so the charge doesn't detonate. The higher umph comes from the engine mods.

Exactly, and because higher octane fuel burns more slowly it spreads the pressure from ignition over a longer period of time, thereby allowing more engine modification that produces higher performance/cylinder pressure.

93-octane is supposed to give an extra 5HP over 91-octane in my Mustang (480 vs. 475). Unfortunately, the only way I can get better than 91 here in California is to add 100-octane racing fuel at $8/gal. The engine has 12:1 compression ratio.

this was the point I was getting at mainly .
Put whatever gas you want into it , it will burn it but if you dont have the engine mods to utilize the extra octane its just making you lighter in the wallet which makes you “think the car gets more power”
