11 power poles down

Do you keep gas on hand to run the generator or is it a fixed unit running on Natural Gas?

I have about 20 gallons of gas which should keep me in power for a few days if I only run it 3 or 4 hours a day. My generator powers fridge, freezer, well pump, water heater (natural gas on demand heater), some outlets and lights. I keep the gas fresh by rotating it through the cars/trucks.

Our generator runs on propane and is tied into our 1,000 gallon propane tank. It's totally computerized and automatically starts and runs for 12 min. every Monday to self check the system. The day and time can be set to your likes for the check, quite nice. Computer tells when to change oil, even though on propane with no carbon deposits, it looks like new when I drain it. PJ
