1098 10CC rear main seal conversion

Anyone interested in the 2" rear main seal kit for their 10CC 1098 should let me know this week. These are done in very small quantities by special order only. I only order once a year if there is enough interest, so let me know if you'd like one. Anyone not familiar with this, this is a kit to add a lip seal to the rear main scroll seal, which almost always leaks moderate to significant amount of oil.

You can read more about it and see what's involved in the installation here if interested:

Gerard,
I am interested but you mentioned 2" seal. I have not checked my engine so is there another size option? How much is your seal kit? Thanks and have a good day!

Hi John,

Each engine is slightly different. Here is the rundown:

948 1.75" main
1098 "10CG" 1.75" main
1098 "10CC" 2.00" main
1275 (all) 2.00" main

The 948 and 10CG 1098 are the same and are interchangeable kits
The 10CC is unique
The 1275 is unique and not interchangeable with any of the others.

The 1275 one is the one with the most demand, so I keep a quantity of those on hand. The others I make in very small quantity, but will make if there is enough interest.

The 10CC engine was introduced in 1964 and used until the 1275 was introduced (late '67), so it was not in use for a lot of years. It is also unique to the Sprite and Midget and was not used in other vehicles like the Morris Minor.
