100 Ugliest cars....

Country flag
Offline
The 100 Ugliest cars list from the British newspaper: the Daily Telegraph, with a few LBCs that BCFer's might own (along with a goodly number of British cars that aren't likely to made it across the pond- like a Marcos, and everyday, garden-variety Fords etc.) on it:

Bugeye Sprite at No. 100 :frown:
Jaguar XJS at 43
Ford Anglia at 32
The New Mini at 26
Daimler SP 250 at 23
New Range Rover at 20

and the highest ranking LBC likely to be seen in the BCF:

the TR7 at 14.... :driving:

The overall winner (er, should that be loser?) was the Pontiak Aztek, over the second placing Fiat Multipla (a truly awful looking visage to view in your LBC's rearview mirror )... quite an achievement for a car that wasn't ever sold here in Ye Olde Worlde....

which ones were "unfair"? :nonono:

Who'd they miss... (there's the starting of an argument)

I've owned 3-1/2 of these on the list.....

Ford Corsair,Ford Anglia,Datsun 120Y (B210),
+ I had 2 Ford Consul Capris (the Ford Classic was on the list).
I don't agree with a lot of choices on their list.Kind
of like when they had a show of the 100 greatest Rock&Roll singers
of all time.I talked to the tv a lot while watching it.

Disagree with the Z3 Coupe.... I love the way that car looks. And the Boxster too.

Hillman Avenger's styling wasn't that bad, and the Frogeye Sprite and the Citroens are "cute" ugly. There have been many more American designs that were more apalling than some of these, however those voting would not have been familiar with them. As proof, I offer the 1977 Ford Thunderbird, the same-vintage Mercury Cougar, and the 1983 Cougar......Chrysler's Newport band Cordoba from around 1975.

A TR7 isn't any higher?

And quite a number of them aren't so much ugly as dull and uninspired designs. The Yugo for example, while an overall poor quality auto, isn't that much different in looks from many other 70s/80s econo boxes.

When I think ugly I think Edsiel.

They missed the Aurora...

Still boggles my mind that someone took time to build that car TWICE! Once when it was originally built, and again when some deranged lunatic RESTORED it! hahahaha.
I thought the list was pretty good. I can't argue with too many of them. And the comments were humerous. Heck! my XB made it at #27!
I'll be the first to call it our "toaster"
I like ugly cars. they're different.

"If you wanna be happy for the rest of your life,
Never make a pretty woman your wife.
So from my personal point of view,
Get an ugly girl to marry you."

"Don't let your friends say you have no taste,
Go ahead and marry anyway.
Her face is ugly, her eyes don't no match.
Take it from me, she's a better catch."

Harry Belafonte may have been a wise, wise man!

I always dated ugly women in college. They seemed to appreciate you more. That was before the use of the phrase, "High Maintenance". Of course, I was no catch either.
