100 spin on oil filter part number, no oil pressure after replacement

Hi All
Does anyone have a part code for the filter used in the new spin on oil filters. The one supplied in the kit does not have a number.
i got what I thought was a suitable replacement at the auto shop however when the car was started, no oil pressure. Have traced it to oil entering the filter, first point on from the pump but not seems to be exiting the new filter, seems strange, any thoughts?

Find this on SPIN Filter Kit instructions
Check installation by inserting a pencil in center and bottom oil holes in adapter. If
pencil goes into block, the holes are in correct alignment. If not, you have not installed
adapter correctly and your engine will not get oil. Reinstall and check hole alignment. Replace
drain plug in pan and follow manufactures instructions on spin on filter. Put in required
amount of oil and start engine. Check for leaks! Check for leaks check for leaks!
Filter to use. Wix 1516 ,NAPA Gold or replacement. Not all replacements have
the anti-drain back valve. ( To check for this valve look at the filter's small
holes, you should see a black baffle behind these hole to prevent the oil from draining out of
filter when engine is not running.
Important: check starter cable terminal so it does not short out

The Wix filter I use on both my Healeys is their number 51516 (equivalent to the Fram PH3600 I bought with the first one from Moss). A while back I bought a dozen on eBay for about $5/per; they're still available from several suppliers:

I had a similar experience a few months back--after draining oil and changing the K&N spin-on filter I restarted and OP did not come up after at least 30 seconds of running. Several posters on the newsgroup suggested that I simply back the filter off so that the gasket was not in contact with the adaptor base so as to allow air to escape. I followed the advise and let the engine run at idle--after a few seconds oil dribbled out around the base of the filter, the gauge came up and my 10 psi OP light went out. The experience was a bit disconcerting as I have never had to do that before but in any case no damage done.

BTW stay away from Fram filters and a lot of others that have shoddy construction. Compare what you are using to a K &N or WIX and if the bottom plate is not as heavy toss it and replace.

Purolator 30001 is what I use with a DW screw on adaptor on my 100.

Stay away from the cheap Fram filters. They make four grades. Their top line filters are fine.

Fram's homepage shows that they have five grades of filters and they seem to be differentiated by the filter medias but there is no mention of heavier construction for the higher grade filters. Though I have never cut a Fram apart to see the innards the baseplates on the ones I have seen are quite thin relative to a K&N.

I've seen several of those "studies" and videos that show the cheap Fram filters in a bad light, and deservedly so, but they're not the only one. However, the Administrator's conclusion was

IMO the winner of the best price to performance award is suprisingly a Fram.

the XG5 was one of the best in the filter test, and was only like $7-8. sure the RP and Amsoil were exceptionally good too, but they're also like $14+.

There are other brands of filters that get bad marks and Fram makes a lot of them under private labels.
I believe that the good rating was given to the Fram filter for its value in light of its cheap price as opposed to its quality alone.
