Pendine has an ad in the latest Classic &Sports Car for a 100S (also, a 100M).

I was curious about the 100S and looked at their website.

On the Pendine website (after you scroll about 1/3 of the way down), the ad admits it's a tool room copy (I was already pretty sure ONX392 had been destroyed).

~Here's the link to the Pendine website~

It's still a really neat car and valuable in its own way. But I wish they'd called it a replica up front.

This machine was built from scratch a few years ago by Denis Welch Motorsport and is well known. I agree, they are a bit cheeky not emphasising that it is a replica. Also, the engraving on the fuel filler car is misleading.

This car is "the other" replica of the 1954 Endurance Car. Steve Pike made one for Belgian Bruno Verstraete, and Denis Welch made this one for a Brit whose name I forget at the moment.

Bruno's Steve-Pike-built car is the one most Americans know of since it was part of the "Healeys Return to Bonneville" event in 2009 (I believe was the year). This Denis Welch Motorsport car set records in England.

Both cars and their record attempts were extensively covered in HEALEY MARQUE magazine, but Bruno's is the one best known due to its appearance in the USA and all of the publicity surrounding the speed runs in 2009 with the Streamliner replica that was also built by (and is owned by) Steve Pike.

Hi Reid, here is a photo of Bruno's Healey taken at Phillip Island in 2009 just after Steve completed it.

It's a beauty! Steve did a fabulous job.

I was with Steve & Co. when he took his Streamliner to Lake Gairdner several years ago (and had a top speed of 195 MPH, as recorded by the onboard GPS receiver), and we also took in the vintage races at Phillips Island on that same trip. I believe that that was 2010. What a beautiful race track!

Actually, for me, the Denis Welch car is better know. Probably because I'm a customer and on their mailing list.

I agree, they are a bit cheeky not emphasising that it is a replica. Also, the engraving on the fuel filler car is misleading.

Looks pretty clear to me that it's a replica.
