Pretty sure that has got to be a replica as I'm not aware of any existing, real 100Ss in black.

Looking at the 100S Registry, AHS 3601 appears to be the only 100S delivered in black. Its story: "Two Austin-Healey 100S models were campaigned in New Zealand during the late ā€˜50s. The first of these, AHS 3601, was purchased by Vickery Motors and raced by Barney Giller and Max Richards. This car was written-off in 1962 and its engine ended up in Australia where, in 1992, a replica 100S was built around it." I wonder if this is that replica. Genos's picture is from the Colorado Grand, which is a pretty high end rally that is exclusive regarding the cars they invite to participate, so I'm guessing there's some original history connected to this car. As an interesting aside, AHS 3601 lives on in as one of the cars in the stable of cars in the video game GT Legends.

My eyes may be playing tricks on me due to the angle from which the photo of the black car was taken but, based on the above, I can't help but think the shroud/grill on the black car looks "off"....
