When you find it, let me know!

I have seen an advertisement for a 100S for sale in the last few issues of one of the major English collector car magazines. I believe the car is located on the East Coast of the USA. Price about $350,000.

You have picked a "hens tooth" to look for. Good luck they are great cars!!

Yeah, I want to find one in a barn, or chicken coop!

These four 100Ss (all real) were at Lime Rock Vintage last year. Also some nice 100Ms and nice plain-Jane 100s. None for sale, though...

I have a 100S amd plan to race it. It is entered in this year's Monterey Historics. However it will be a take-it-easy weekend as the car is just being delivered to me after a 2 year restoration. The break-in time will have to at the track at the pre-Historics and the Historics. Can't wait!! The only reason to have one is to race it.

Glad to hear you're racing your A-H.....good for you!
I race at an east coast track (Shenandoah, Summit Point) that has a "corkscrew" modeled after Monterey....great fun!

Also, here's a sign that was in front of one of the above cars at Lime Rock...I just found it and it may be of interest to some of you:

I think there are only two 100S' unaccounted for so the chances are finding one in a barn or chicken coop are pretty slim (what a find though if you do!). Ken Freese takes care of the 100S registry and has part of the data base on line. https://austinhealey.com/gallery/100s/kf100s.html

UPDATE: I just checked the database and there are at least 4 that are considered "lost". Our odds of finding one just doubled!!
Cheers,
John

when I find one of them, I will restore it and race it, too.
Nice to know you are racing yours, Greg.
That Lime Rock event was really neat to see all those S models......they must be a blast to drive!
Ken has done a great job on that data base! Maybe there's one out there waiting for me to find it! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif
I do believe in never giving up hope!

Peter,

3707 is being advertised in the back of the Nov. issue of the Austin Healey Magazine. $258K Let me know if you need the contact info!

Cheers,
John

There is possible a 100S in a barn somewhere in Sweeden, one that disapeard after a fire in a garage. Probably sometime in the 1960s.

I actually saw one in Perth West Australia back in the late 60's/early 70's, can remember the fuel cap and the two tone paint!, and it was worth more then than a new 3000!, think it ended up going to the east coast of oz

peter,i neglected to tell you i have an-s type occupying an old barn in a far off and rather remote corner of my property,id be all to glad to sell it to you, bring cash! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/devilgrin.gifa good friend and neighbor had one,i was 16,he was 17,when he got it, it was in good shape but didnt run,we managed to get her going, two things i remember, that strange bonet, and how surprisingly quick that 4 cyl was,hed leave it out in all types of weather,no top,no tarp, nothin, who knew! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif

The trick is to stumble on one like that and the owner doesn't know what it is. That'll be the one I get home. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Sure does look nice!...... If I had the green, it'd be in my garage! Thanks for the tip! Looks great!
I guess $150,000 US isn't too bad, actually, for a well done restoration of a real 110S.
