100 Dash Color

Anderson/Moment says the raised portion of the 100 dash should be "light non-reflective silver". Anyone have a more specific recommendation? The rest of the dash is black and I've got that figured out.

Hi Marv,
Mines one of the first 1000 100's, my 2 piece dash was done in a black wrinkle finish when I bought it in 1970, when undergoing full resto in the 1990's we stripped the dash pieces, no other colour was found under the black wrinkle, although some of the body panels had up to 20 different coats of paint!
Dash was redone in black wrinkle, seemed to be original, so was replicated

Most of the cars I've seen are done in "dull" silver. I have found Krylon #1403 "Dull Aluminum" to work. It must be sprayed quite dry to maintain the dull. Once the dull surface is cured it is very subject to marking, dirt, etc.

I overcoated the aluminum with Krylon Matt clear, again sprayed dry to keep it dull.

The resulting finish is tough & not easily marked but can still be cleaned to remove future dirt & junk.
