Rather than hijack the thread below about generators I'll ask on a new one. Does anyone have a photograph or two of an alternator installation that is on a 100 (BN1/BN2). I'm only interested in a regular alternator like a Delco Series 10 style or GM which is physically almost too big but since it is available anywhere it would be one less part I need to carry in my boot on a trip. There were some threads on the old forum and I know Dave Russel had an alternator on his 100 but I can't find those posts. All I really want to see is the bracketry. I can figure something out but it would make it all a bit easier to see how someone else did it. I'm trying to avoid the machine shop but I have no problem cutting stock steel shapes and welding. I'm just kind of a wimp when it comes to elegant designs and I don't want to end up with something that would look more at home on my tractor (I'm pretty good at those). Obviously I'm not worried about stock. Thanks.

Go to my web site, www.britishcarmechanic.com There's a tab called Alternator conversions, it's the first photo. Sorry I don't have any kits available. Just to give you an idea as to how it fits. I recall the unit does need a little modification on one of the tabs.

John,
Thanks so much for the link. That is certainly a help and a nice high resolution photo that stood up to being enlarged. It looks like the main mount that is on the studs is custom. I was debating whether or not to try and use the original generator mount in that position but what you show looks fine by me and I think I will go a similar route. I also like the adjustable rod. Many thanks.
