100/6 Stamped Numbers

My car is a 100/6 BN6. However, it was imported into the UK with documentation as a BN4. It was not imported by myself so I'm not sure if the stamped items on the car are original to the car. My big task is to investigate what the true identity of the car is. I was hoping there were some stamped numbers on the car that are not on easily replaceable parts. Does anyone here that can give me some leads.

Send the information you have off the plate on the firewall plus the engine and gearbox numbers to BMHIT , they can trace them and tell you if the car is original matching numbers etc .
I suspect you have a hybrid that is made up from parts from two or more cars

I am 80% sure it is a Hybrid. Its my plan to visit the British Motor Museum in the near future.

can you tell me where on the gearbox i will find the number. Its a side shift with overdrive. these are defiantly original parts

On a 100/6 that I had there was a number stamped on the bracket on the bonnet to which the bonnet stay was hinged if that is any help.

I heard that the VIN (or maybe body #) is stamped on the inside of the aluminum cockpit trim.
