1) windshield posts--- stantion (sp?) and foot. Catalog shows a packing plate, n/a. What is it? Is it a rubber gasket? If not, what material? 2) Does the stainless steel bead down the front fender line start right at the front edge of the fender or do I have to allow for the headlight rim? I can't remember! P.S. There will be more.

2) The ss bead starts right at the front of the front wing/shroud edge. There's a rubber gasket between between the body and the headlight rim so there will be no metal-to-metal contact between the rim and the beading. The trick is the other end as it goes under the windscreen foot (when it's lowered) and then between the foot and the windshield post. Separate piece there.

Make sure you fit the chrome foot that the windscreen locates into when down, "before you fit" the stainless steel beading. I fitted my original units and fitted the beading, only to find out later the shiny new repro's are shorter than the originals. So fit the one's you intend to use first. I ended up having the original brass units re chromed, glad I did.
