100-4 front fender removal

1) There is a support on the top of the inner fender that goes to the seam at the fender and the engine shroud. There are two bolts. Do those have to come out to remove the fender or are they only there to support the shroud?
2) There is a bolt behind the wiper motor on the drivers side. Is it standard procedure to remove the wiper motor to reach that bolt? That would be a cruel joke. Is there a way to cheat it out?
