How about this one I knew where a 100-4 had been sitting uncovered for years behind a vacant house. It had no floors, sills, the bottom 6 inches of all of the fenders were rusted off there was a small tree growing out of it too. All the gauges were ruined and the frame had been sitting on the ground for many years as the tires were rotted off and the rims had sunk into the ground. The engine was frozen but I had never checked for a cracked block. OK GET THE PICTURE. I had tried to buy it several times but the owner wouldn`t even name a price. I stopped by today to try again and it was gone. I asked what happened to it and the lady who owned it said she had sold it 2 months ago. Now sit down she sold it for $6,000.00. I didn`t want it that bad but evidently someone did. Skip

Truly amazing. I know Healey's have gone up in price, but, a rust bucket is a rust bucket. I've restored a rusty car before, but your description shows a real lost cause. I recently bid on a '58 100/6 on eBay. It reached $5100 and still didn't meet the owners reserve. Now, this car hadn't run in 15 years, had head-on damage, some rust?, and was located far away. I think the prices of Healey's very soon will come down to normal very soon, meanwhile, if you need some money sell your Healey. I'll never sell mine!

I think the guy who bought it almost had to get run over by the turnip truck following the one he fell off of. This car would have cost 25,000 in parts alone to restore.

Skip/Lynne-By any chance does this lady also have the blue Healy for sale on E-bay? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif
