Id appreciate some help in choosing an exhaust system for my BN-1 im restoring.How due the moss stainless systems sound and are you happy with the quality versus having a local shop install a system. Ive noticed sports and classics on ebay has a steel system they sell which they claim is from the seventies and has the correct sound.Thanks for any assistance.
 
Hey Sheldon,
I replaced the muffler and tailpipe on a 54 BN1 a couple of years ago and
used the standard mild carbon steel pieces from Moss. I have heard that
the stainless steel systems give you a different sound, less throaty, than
the mild carbon steel. Since most of these cars are not being driven in
the rain, snow etc anymore, I personally do not see the value in paying for
stainless steel. The exhaust systems I have on my current BN6 and 100M are
both mild carbon. I have dealt with Sports and Classics and good outfit.

I would recomend the stainless steel.. I have them on the Healey and both e-types. I have Bell . My standard systems have rusted out from the inside due to condensation build up inside the system, not by driving in the rain or snow.
