Got most of the paint off the dash panel.(aluminum) The color seemingly closest to the metal on the lions share of the dash is red. (primer or finish color?) The raised section surrounding the guage openings is a cream. Was this a color scheme that was used when new? Anyone know?

Hi Rossco, My 54 BN1 was originally OEW with red interior and hood. When I got it it had black vinyl covering the dash. Once removed I found the original paint to be OEW with a red insert round the instruments.

Don't see why your car should not be the opposite.

Of course you will need to get a Heritage cert to find the original color scheme, there is no certainty that the dash you have is the original one from the car!

ps i think all dashboards had a rusty red color as primer, It was the "as is" finish on the back.
