Fun facts about one million (these are collected from the internet, so they are 99.999% true, give or take a 9...)

A bloodhound’s sense of smell is said to be one million times stronger than ours (and given that we can detect one trillion different smells, that’s not to be sniffed at).
One million queen ants were found in the largest ever ants’ nest (the supercolony also had 306 million worker ants and was the size of 650 football pitches).
One million seconds equals 11.6 days.
One million minutes equals 1.9 years.
One million inches equals 15.7 miles.
One million feet equals 189.4 miles.
One million pennies, stacked one on top of another, reach almost one mile high.
One million dollar bills. stacked, would be 361 feet tall and weigh one ton.
The word millionaire was first used by Benjamin Disraeli in his 1826 novel Vivian Grey.

Another fun fact. One million is one millionth of one Trillion. (A Trillion is a million million, or a 1 followed by 12 zeros). To put it in perspective: If you were alive when Jesus was born (and you are immortal) and began spending $1 million every single day, and continued spending $1 million every day, continuously all through the decades, the centuries, the millennium, up until today, you still would not yet have spent 1 Trillion dollars. No, you would have to continue spending $1 Million every day for another (approximately) 720 more years before you would have spent just $1 Trillion. (Do this 19 more times and you could pay off the national debt - in the year 54720 [but I think we'll be using star dates by then])

OK OK... you've talked me into it. I'll TAKE a trillion. Thanks. :excitement:

Methinks 25% of those one million posts came from our illustrious Doc....?

I might have jumped that count up some if I had posted all my questions however most were found searching past posts with the answers. Back under the car now.

Do you mind being paid in pennies?

Reminds me of that line from Garrison Keillor in referring to the Norwegian lottery:
You win a millions dollars - to be paid out $1/year for a million years.

not if you hand deliver them all at once. By yerself. No help.

I'll have a CAB in honour of the milestone.

...or would that be millstone?!? :smirk:
