i dont want to ask a stupid question, but:
the number one cylinder(for timing gun purposes) on the mgb is the one closest to the water pump? i learned never to assume. on some cars it could be the rear one closest to the bulkhead.

i thought it was. better safe than embarrassed.
also, does anybody know the correct thread/ size
to use as an extraction/installation tool for the distributor gear?
