TR4/4A 1.5 in outside diameter rocker cover pipe

I'm reassembling a TR4 and have run into an odd issue. The outside diameter of the oil filler pipe is 1.5 inch but the breather that came with the car(new) and the one I got from Moss both have inside diameter of 1 3/8 inch.

most everything that came with this car is NOS but maybe not 1961.

So I'm wondering did any year have a 1.5 inch OD oil filler pipe that maybe I can order a breather from?

thanks Dave

I had the same problem when I got my cover back from the chromer. I had to hole saw out the bottom plate, make a new one with a bigger hole, and weld (or maybe pop rivet, don't recall clearly) the new plate onto the remaining edge of the old bottom plate.
Have fun.

I don't think I'm up to modifying the breather. I don't have a machine shop.

I can source a chrome aftermarket one with 1.5 inch ID so I'll probably go that route. But thanks for the advise

My buddy has a metal lathe and managed to take enough off the inside that it now fits! Luckily I had 2 as the first one didn't survive.
