1 1/2 +1 1/2 =TR3 up-date

Just thought I would update you on progress on the TR3. The body is on the frame and all adjustments made for good alingment. Jason moved the front apron attachment points forward about 1/4 inch for better fittment of the bonnett. All doors are lined up perfect. The trunk area is being addressed today. All the rough body work should be done today or Friday. The body comes off one more time for paint. We added the origanial windscreen brackets under the scuttle for the fittment of the Brooklin wind screens ( no drilling thru and using screws that wiggle loose). Also the bonnett was reshaped to match the front apron, it was about 3/8 of a inch out of the right radius. Now it looks great! There is about three weeks untill it is ready for paint and then the final assembly.

I am so envious of the bodywork skills you are showing on that car! Very nice indeed.

Moe and Jason are the master panel beaters, I am just a architectural sheet metal worker.

Fantastik.
Thanks for the update and pictures. If it weren't so hot, I'd be tempted to go in the garage and do something with mine. But I do enjoy seeing your progress.

Re: 1 1/2 +1 1/2 =TR3 up-date

How did you/they reshape the curve on the bonnet. The rear of my TR3 bonnet is not exactly as I would like it and I would love to give it a bit more curve to match the body back there.

Dan...Excellent progress!
Any chance you will be at Triumphest with this car
in late September?

I think that my wife and I will be there but not the TR. We are going to Washington for a wedding, then to Yellowstone. I don't think that we will have time to complete the TR. Are you going Gil?

Adrio
They used a wooden block and hand formed the hat channel to the same radius.

thanks Dan

Re: 1 1/2 +1 1/2 =TR3 up-date

No, the hat channel is the support and holds the form.
