Door Gaps

I’ve been scratching my head on fixes for the door edges overlapping the rear wing edges by approx 1/4” on both sides of my 1960 BN7. It has me thinking, is it because I did a lot of front shroud panel repairs (corrosion) before refitting the engine and box? Is the chassis bent?

Discussing the problem with someone a while ago suggested running an angle grinder down the door edge to re-open the gaps. This would be a quick and dirty fix, but doesn’t address looking for the causes and addressing those.

Any suggestions?

Thanks, Dave

Photos?

Yes, photos would help. The edges of the doors are the door skins folded over the inner door framework so if you remove 1/16" or more you are cutting the hemmed over door skin and will have to reweld in order to have a hemmed edge. I had to do a bit of that on mine but only and 1/8" or so
