Spitfire Steering Column Lock

I've purchased a new Column lock with new key set, Original keys have been MIA for at least a decade. Anyway, I went to install the new switch today, Only to find out they are different. I've only seen one switch listing for everything FM60,006 and older, Mine is FM74000+. What needs to be done with the green wire that attached to the terminal on the old switch? Does this need to be grounded?

Welcome to the Forum, AJ. On the TR6, the blade connection on the switch side powers a buzzer when the driver door is open & the key is in the ignition. I think it provides a ground but you could test by touching it to ground with the door open. It may be a feature you can do without. Hopefully a fellow Spitfire owner can weigh in.

After further research looking at the wiring diagram, it appears that is what is is for.

Green is usually the color for a +12V supply when ignition is on... I wouldn't ground it. :eek:
