'59 Bugeye. There are two wires to this gauge. They are nipped off and I can't see what they are. What color are they? My wiring diagram doesn't even show the gauge. If I can't recover the wire stubs and repair them is my gauge junk? Thank you. R

The diagram doesn't show them because the bugeye coolant gauge is not electrical. If yours is then it must be some custom installation.

Thanks, Bayless. The gauge is a Smith's GD1502/01. I looked it up and BMC lists it as the correct gauge for a Bugeye. I got brave ( or foolish) and took it apart and it was simply a light. I wired it up replaced the dead bulb. Hopefully it'll work. I do find it curious it's not on the diagram.

It's on the wiring diagram.

Rick. You're diagram is more complete. I have two and neither shows the item in question. I like the look of your copy. What is the source?

It's a colorized version of the factory diagram that I found on the internet somewhere.

That's a light bulb on the diagram.

Bayless. Thank you. I took it apart yesterday, replaced the dead bulb, bench tested it and it's back in the car. R

Great. Always nice to have solved a problem.
