TR2/3/3A Faces

Here is one of the latest off Ebay. As I sat and looked at it, I realized these cars do have souls. Nothing looks meaner than the front of a Triumph running down the road, but, there is also nothing sadder looking than the face they make when they cry for a restoration....

It looks like a decent candidate for restoration to me. Of course it needs the usual: floors, outer and probably inner sills, wing repair and some magic on the front apron (at least).

looking at the licence plate....1 day it will be restored!

What do you estimate would be the cost of doing a first class restoration on this poor TR3? Assume only a limited amount of work by the owner - mainly mechanical.

I can easily imagine someone burning through $30K and still not having the end in sight.

TR2s are happier.

My estimates are off, but from start to finish, I spent about 7 years and $25,000 on mine -doing almost everything myself. Perhaps a better candidate would have been a better starting point, but my "original" car was "free", so how could I go wrong? I think it looks happier now, but I've seen faces in the front end before.
