Scenes from around Old Sturbridge Village, as we get ready for tomorrow's celebrations.

Happy Thanksgiving to all!
Tom M.

PS - who knows why the guy is lowering an iron rod down into the mug?

Is he warming his ale?
To everyone: Have a wonderful Thanksgiving!

Indeed - and yes we will be celebrating in the Smit house too - though not till Saturday.:grouphug:

I'm going to some far away place called Eastford Connecticut.

Definitely mulled cider.

I'm pretty sure I saw a microwave oven in the back of one of the photos. Hope your Thanksgiving was great Tom! ...and everyone else too!

Always remember a trip to Old Sturbridge Village. Been there many a time but it never gets (Dare I pun?) old.

Never been to OSV but did spend a lot of time in Colonial Williamsburg, VA. back-when. That place has become much more "commercialized" since.

OSV is on my list of places to visit. Along with Mystic Seaport, Fort Ticonderoga, and a few others. The living history group I'm involved with does their annual "Feast Of The Harvest Moon" at a 150 year old mansion turned bed and breakfast that boasts a beautiful banquet hall with hand hewn beams, and a giant stone hearth. Of course period clothing is required, and the evening includes dances like the Virginia Reel and games of Farkle and Shut-the-box.
It looks like you guys have a good time. I hope to come see it someday.
