I got a call from Kathy at Knox Custom Chrome and my front bumper, rear bumperettes, and grille are all done and ready to ship back to me ;)

They even put a rush on them and got it all done in about 4 weeks.

I'll let you know how they look and post some pics when they arrive...

You're gonna be happy!

Mark,
Not Fred, but the 2 grills in the above picture were replated for me by Knox. 1 grill had a small flaw when it came back and they fixed it quickly...1 grill had been rechromed before and the other was pretty much a rusty piece of metal. I don't know the current cost, but I think it's fair for this day and time and the quality is excellent! I've got more items to be chromed and they will go to Knox.

So that's why they haven't finished my grill and bumperettes yet.

Thanks Rut,
my grill is going to need a bit of work so I've been putting off fixing it in hopes of finding a better one to have re chromed. Mine has little depressions in the face where there is a mounting stud underneath (where someone tried pulling the grill off with the nut still on). I wonder if they just fill those depressions with brass and smooth them out.

Mark,
I had the same dent in the top of one of my grills and it was gone when I got it back. You can call them and email a picture and they can give you an accurate quote based on the condition of your grill.

My grille was in decent shape, but did have the "dimples". My front bumper had a few dents, and my rear bumperettes were in rough shape (multiple fairly deep dents on each). There was an up charge on the bumperettes for the repairs, but all the other items were done at the base price. Prices as follows:
Front Bumper $200
Grille $275
Rear bumperettes: $40 base price, mine were done for $75 each.

So my price was $625, and with return shipping they billed $685 total.

I have a NOS Grille never been installed that came with Bugsy II. Unfortunately it has a quarter sized spot on the eyebrow that will need to go in to be fixed and re-chromed. The dimples in the grille are caused by try to put the nuts on too tight. Remember the whole bonnet flexes quite a bit. Leave those spire nuts? on loosely or dimples will result.

Fred,
Thats about what I remember on the prices. They really pride themselves on doing it right the first time.

Thanks All! Encouraging info. Thanks for the tip about sending a picture Rut and about not tightening the nut
s too much Jim.
