Penny's bodywork begins

Thanks, all. I'm really excited, hoping I'll have the car home in the next few weeks -- we'll see, but at least there's some light at the end of the tunnel now.

Looks great. I'm totally jealous...

You'll get back ahead of me soon -- I still have to do everything else to this car, and it's going to take a while.

Lookin' great. Wish I had anything anywhere that near done.

Well, that's rather satisfying, isn't it? Looks great Drew!

Yummy looking white. Tasty. I bet pictures don't do it justice. Nice paint jobs are like that...ya gotta see/touch it
to REALLY appreciate craftsmanship.
Yummy....
giddy up....get er going.
oh, and more pics.
:cool-new:

Bonnet paint!

A bit more progress. The bonnet is done, she looks great!

They still have to do the doors and get things reassembled. Hoping maybe next week everything will be done and rubbed out and I'll be able to bring her home. Very exciting stuff!

Man, I wish you were closer. That white beauty, w/ Bluemax's black beauty and my sad old baby blue would be the
stars at any Cars and Coffee.
keep the pics coming!

Looking good Drew!

Amazing how pretty fresh paint can be.

Thanks all!

I'm really excited for how this is turning out. So much still to do, but it is nice to think that in a week or two I may have her home and be able to move on to the next phases.

Almost there

We're almost there! Doors are done and back on, and the suspension is back on (loosely) so she can be transported. All that is left is to get the bonnet fitted and she can come home.

I'm getting excited, hope to have her back in the shop very soon. So much still to do -- *everything* else to do if I'm honest. Still, will be nice to have the bodywork stage done so I can move on to the next steps.

Very nice Drew! Just think, you can fill in your avatar with some sheet metal!:encouragement: PJ

Just got word from the body shop that Penny is done!:banana::banana::banana::banana:

I was already taking Friday off, so I'll go down and settle the bill and get AAA to tow her back to my house. Final bill came in a bit above the initial estimate, but was what I expected given the quality of work that was done and the things we had to handle along the way. I'm perfectly content, and really excited to get her back. Going to be while before the resources are replenished enough to start working on the next steps, but this was the biggie.

Pictures to follow later this week when I get down to get her towed home.

Looks great Drew.. Its a long road but your chipping away a peace at a time! I'm down to the last 13 bolts and I'm done. Waiting for the new car cover to come from England on Monday, then off to Euro Fest show 17th Oct.

Drew,
I've got a suspension (front and rear), engine, and tranny; all of them freshly rebuilt. But the bodyshop still has my tub. You've got a body, but nothing to put on it. Between the two of us we have a complete car! Maybe we should meet halfway (somewhere around Ogden?) and make a complete car. :highly_amused:

Too funny...I want to see the outcome!
