BJ7 Windshield Glazing seal

Fifteen years ago a mechanic working on my BJ7 broke the windshield. He replaced the glass but I noticed that the original glazing seal (which I had replaced a few years before this episode) seemed loose compared to the original fit. It seems as if the windshield is not as thick as the original and the glass fits sloppy in the rubber seal as it sits in the windshield frame. Any thoughts? Are there different thickness windshields out there? Are there different seal sets available for differing thickness glass?

Thanks

Don

About correct. I'm just getting around to working on the car after storing it in my barn. The windshield was loose in the seal when I got it back 15 years ago and still is. No change there. Taken me 15 years to ask the question.

We really do try to be helpful, so let's hear those questions! LOL

Some replacement windshields are thinner, and some glazing is thicker. Moss used to sell glazing that was too thick, but they say their new glazing is the correct, thinner, version.
