It looks like they rushed it off the production line and forgot to finish the mouth/grill . If it had a nice looking grill in the big mouth hole and some sort of accent piece on the bonnet opening it would look way better . Other than the front end issues its not that bad. Other than its got a Mazda motor etc in it .
My Miata is a better car in almost every way than my Healey: speed, handling, reliability, comfort.
The Healey wins because it turns a trip into an event.
Here's some more info on the kit including the space frame: https://www.automotivecreation.com/#!enigma-kit/cpf0 You could probably import it as an uncompleted kit car if you had a mind to. (or maybe half a mind to) The back end looks most Healey-like and not too bad, considering you really can't stick chrome bumpers on the back of a modern car. I'm also not a fan of the rocker panel treatment, but they needed to do something to tie the fender flares together. I wonder if the grille would look better with a waterfall style grille from the 3000? As for power, plenty of Miatas running Ford 5.0L and LS1 notor conversions. Maybe it would make a good BJ9 chase vehicle or weathertight conversation piece.

I consider every ride in the Healey to be a test. Tomorrow the DC Healey club is having an ice cream social up near Laurel and we may go--no telling what to expect beyond the ice cream.
Are you attending the Gold Cup races with the XI? I may be bringing the MK IV.
