TR4/4A Your thoughts/value of this TR4

And this is why I will always have a tonneau cover on it wherever I go. I don't need wandering eyes or hands poking around my car. It's a PITA to have to put it on every time, but some people just don't respect other peoples property. Sorry that happened.

In this case I'm fortunate I didn't have one installed. It would have been destroyed when Tipsy McDrunkass fell into the car.

This is sort of the "Rest of the Story". We were having dinner with our son tonight and he tells us about his neighbor's friend, or someone like that, that actually was the Tipsy McDrunkass you referred to. Small world!

Do tell! How on earth did that subject come up?

Anytime our son hears a story being told involving a TR his interest is peaked. Add a drunk and it increases even more. He, of course, doesn't remember, but his first TR experience was being stuck on a snow drift in a St. Louis parking lot, having to be pushed off by helping bystanders. At that time, 45 years ago, he was still in his mom's tummy. That is a long history with a car.

I parked my TR6 at a Ferrari meeta couple of years ago and came back to find that someone had left my radio on for who knows how long. And years ago, someone opened my MG TD glovebox and stole my driving gloves and sunglasses (non-prescription in those bygone days). Non-locking glovebox but they might have broken in anyway. OTOH, in 1959, I parked my Twin-Cam MGA down in Greenwich Village several times and had no problems whatsoever.

OK, so September 14th is tentatively Triumph day at Fair Oaks Brew Pub. PatGalvin, fpstude, that means you! It also means anyone else with a Triumph (or not) who wants to show up! I will endeavor to pimp this a few more times between now and then.

So show up! Or don't. But most importantly, show up!

Got it, plan to be there.

Any of you guys going to the British Fall Classic Car Show in Morgan Hill on Sept 13? Just curious.

I didn't sign up for Morgan Hill but Dan (TinMan) will be there I am going to Blackhawk (Danville) on Sept. 19th and Ironstone on the 26th. Ironstone is a great show, if you can make it. Blackhawk is at the beautiful Auto Museum, which should be a great show venue. I know there are limited spots available for that show.

See you around 6 PM on the 14th.

Pat

I'll also be at Ironstone on the 26th. I'll be there with our '50 Studebaker, a featured marque this year.

Thanks for the heads up. I would have missed it!
I plan on going.

Thankfully, it looks like the weather is going to cooperate with us on Monday and drop well out of the nasty triple digits we've had lately. So I hope to see you guys there! Just FYI:

Fair Oaks Brew Pub
7988 California Ave
Fair Oaks, CA

I should be there between 5:30 and 6:00. I'll try to wear a TR4 shirt.

I plan to be there. Look forward to meeting you and seeing your completed project.

Great! Got confirmation from Scotty yesterday so there should at least be 4 TRs in attendance.

Perry and Pat, thanks for showing up - it was great to meet both of you. Here are a couple of pics, we managed to get rock star parking out front and gather quite a bit of attention! We even managed to get them in chronological order.
