My Walkman of nearly thirty years has sadly passed into the great beyond. So now I am looking to replace it on eBay and people are asking for some serious money for one, well over 100 dollars. I don't understand it, I didn't think anyone, other than me, even listened to these things anymore.

MP3-player time.

Lots of interest in my original Nintendo on eBay now. Go figure, means more in the new bicycle fund for me.

Can the WALkman and get this:

Fiio X1 All your tunes can be converted to MP3, (You can also get the X3 or X5 but those are more $$ )

Then get these: Sennheiser PX100 (These things sound amazing for as inexpensive as they are)

:iagree: Love it! (and great movie too)

In a separate but related, the ipod classic is no longer being made - so, not only is the walkman obsolete but the thing that replaced it is as well. Sigh I guess walkmans are the LBC's of audio technology.

Actually, my son grieved the loss of the classic (in part because he goes through about one a year between loosing/ getting stolen & breaking) but mostly because of the crazy amount of memory they had. I don't think there is a current equal. (though would be happy to know if there was)

I have the FiiO X5. It will play any type of digital music file that exists (MP3, FLAC, AIFF, etc) and has 2 slots that will each hold a 128GB Micro SD card (256GB total compared to 160GB for iPod Classic). My entire digital music library is over 6800 songs and only takes about half of one of the cards.

Digital music? Uses all ten digits, makes music and never runs out of memory:

Is that password protected Tom?

Nah - that was the translation. Here's what you have to type in:

I've thought about an iPod or some such MP3 player before, but nowadays I only listen to my old cassettes on my Walkman it seems. I don't want to have to buy all that music again on another format (already did that with my Iron Butterfly 8 track). I thought about buying a cheap Walkman off of eBay, and did; I was just hoping to get one like my old one.

Bas, I am a little surprised you don't own an iPod. The more I think about it the more I think I should look into the Fiio. I don't need headphones, I have a set of Grado SR80e phones.
