about to purchase a 67 differential from a forum member and wanted to determine if it is a direct replacement for the differential in my 1958 bn6. so that is the question for the experts? what say ye!!!

As steve said, and Yes it will interchange. I would say your speedometer will be a little off, but it will work fine. I could tell the difference between my 100 6 and the Bj8 rear end, but it was slight.

Just wondering. If you're going to change rear ends, wouldn't you go for the 3.54?

Rick,
If the BN6 has the 2.6 engine and 28% overdrive, would it perhaps be best to upgrade to the 3.91 vs the 3.54?

Peter Roses has the 3.54 and 28% OD on his BN6 29D engine and it's pretty tall. Might be too tall for the 26D with 28% OD. Just thinking out loud.

Steve,

You could be right. I tend to approach things from a BJ7 point of view (pre V8 conversion) and it always makes sense to seek opinions from someone that has the exact combination you're looking for before making the change.

unfortunately my bn6 has a non original 3000 engine and centershift overdrive transmission. i contemplated the 3.54 but the 3.9 will have to be it for now. thanks for the insights!!!
