End Of Daylight Savings Time

Dang! I got up this morning, fed the dog and made the coffee and went to get the paper off of the driveway, but no paper.
I attributed that to the fact that we had a light rain and it must of slowed down the paper deliverer
It didn't dawn on me until just a little bit ago that daylight savings time had ended and I was up an hour early.
The actual "DAWN" wont happen for about another hour. Now off to reset the clocks and wait for the paper to come.

My wife commented last night how good it would be to sleep in this morning. But … the cats did not get the memo.

Same here. The new hunting time is 2:30. Now she's in my lap ready for a nap. For the next 9 hours.

Being more of a night guy than a morning person I love the fall change setting the clock back, never have liked getting up before sunrise.

On the upside, I spent last week in the English Lake District. The shorter day gave me the excuse to choose the valley walks rather than over the tops as 'we haven't got time to get up high and back before we loose the light'.

The reality is a desk bound jobs and an aversion to exercise means the missus and I are just not up to it anymore (even with our Sherpa - my son James - doing all the carrying)

Fine view, Steve.

As for DST, there is no longer a reason to go muckin' around with the clocks. That all went away after Tom Edison's magic lanterns became ubiquitous.

I agree Doc. I hate the sun staying up till nine during the summer, it makes it so difficult to get the kids to bed at a decent time. I also hate getting up two hours before the sun for nearly a month before DST ends. I don't mind having to do it in the winter, but seriously the sun not rising till nearly 8 in October is beyond ridiculous.

Me, I love the sun being up until 9:30 pm in the summer -- means I have lots of time to get outside after work (I'm generally off at 3:30) to enjoy being outside Mid summer I can get in a 5 hour hike after work -- makes up for the basement-dwelling IT job. I'm used to getting up before dawn, and work in an office so I don't miss the morning light.

Of course I don't have kids to put to bed, so that's never been an issue for me.
