I'm sorry for doing this, but I'm hoping one of my Triumph buddies here also has an early MGB and can answer a quick question. I need to know what size and type the thread is on the studs that hold the taillamp base to the body on a '64 MGB. TIA!

Hey, Andy -

Can't determine for sure, but I think it's either 8-32 or 10-32.

I don't know if this is useful or not but it drove me crazy looking for a nut on one of the studs holding a gauge in my TR6.
8/32 was too small, 10/32 didn't thread on right. It turned out to be a 36 pitch thread!

The taillamps on my Dads 68 MGB GT, uses 10-32 thread studs, best as I can tell. The original nuts are just stamped flat steel.
Good luck!

Ah, so those ARE as original, those stamped nuts? Maybe I'll be able to find something like that in my local Ace or True Value?
